FAQ : ENGRAVING, SAND BLASTING, ETCHINGMETAL ENGRAVING ...Can you engrave your products? Yes. Metal parts of our products (typically hourglasses and oil lamps) can be easily engraved. Inscriptions, symbols, logos, drawings or ornamental patterns are possible. I already own an hourglass (oil lamp) made by you. Can I have it engraved? We strongly advise against it. We recommend ordering any engraved articles directly from us. It is most advisable to engrave the products before they are surface treated (lacquered or metal plated). The surface finish stops brass tarnishing. Naturally, you will also reduce the total costs.GLASS ENGRAVING, SAND BLASTING, ACID ETCHING ...Do you custom engrave the glass parts of your products? Yes, inscriptions, logos, etc. can also be engraved, sand blasted or acid etched on glass parts. PRICES AND DELIVERY TIME ...How are these services priced? Engraving, sand blasting or etching may be quite expensive to very cheap. The fixed costs connected with the starting phase of the procedure are very high. The per unit price therefore decreases dramatically with the increasing quantity of units processed the same way at the same time. As a rule of thumb, small orders (less than 5 units ornamented with an identical pattern) are too expensive. Does engraving, sand blasting or etching prolong the delivery time? Yes, definitely. Add two weeks to the normal delivery time. |
